ONLINE: Polkadot Wounds by Anthony Vahni Capildeo: Carcanet Online Book Launch

Carcanet Press is hosting an online event celebrating the launch of their next publication, 'Polkadot Wounds' by Anthony Vahni Capildeo.

The event will feature readings and a discussion of the work, as well as a Q&A for audiences to ask their questions afterwards. Text of the poems will be made available during the reading.

Anthony (Vahni) Capildeo FRSL is a  Professor and Writer in Residence at the University of York. Their works include No Traveller Returns (Salt, 2003) and Person Animal Figure (Landfill, 2005). Their work has been recognized with the Cholmondeley Award (Society of Authors) and the Forward Poetry Prize for Best Collection. Their publications include Like a Tree, Walking (Carcanet, 2021) (Poetry Book Society Choice), and A Happiness (Intergraphia, 2022). Recent commissions include research-based Windrush poems for Poet in the City and for the Royal Society of Literature. Capildeo served as a judge for the Jhalak Prize (2023).

James Womack was born in 1979. His new collection, Why Are You Shouting?, is published by Carcanet in July 2024. He is the author of three previous collections of poetry with Carcanet: Misprint (2012), On Trust: A Book of Lies (2017) and Homunculus (2020).
